commencement of jury selection through the final verdicts. Daily transcripts were required every step of the way. Beyond the length of the trial, your job was further complicated by the fact that there were a great number of witnesses who testified, many of whom had never testified before in a court of law. We greatly appreciate that, each and ever day, you delivered these transcripts promptly and accurately. We want you to know that your hard work and your professionalism did not go unnoticed.
It would be my pleasure to recommend you to any court or individual in need of stenographic services. We have now worked together in two very protracted federal death penalty cases (United States v. Phillips, 07-549 and United States v. Savage, 07-550). In each of these matters, over the course of many months, you were required to provide all counsel with daily transcripts. You performed this task exceptionally well. The notes of testimony were accurate, easy to read, and often available the same day, in the evening after the day’s proceedings. You also provided these notes, each day, in both an electronic and a hard copy. Two other aspects of your work also deserve special mention. First, the format of your transcripts is particularly helpful. In your electronic format, an index of the words appearing in the transcript sits side by side, on the same page with the transcript itself. Because the reader does not have to page to the back of the document to review the index, it becomes much easier to find a specific passage in a lengthy set of notes. Second, in the often tense atmosphere of a lengthy, high-stakes trial, you have always remained a steadying, professional, friendly presence. Thank you for your assistance in the past.
